| | 6/30/2010 - Armed Robbery of Hess Station on Hwy 60, Mulberry | Polk County Sheriff`s Robbery detectives are seeking information about an armed robbery that occurred at the Hess Food Store located at 4785 SR 60 West in Mulberry.
Around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, an unknown black male suspect wearing a white T-shirt and gray shorts entered the store. The suspect had his face covered and was armed with an unknown type of firearm. The suspect demanded cash from the clerk, but the clerk refused to comply with his demands. After a brief struggle during which the clerk was slightly injured, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot heading westbound on SR 60.
The suspect, who can be seen here in a video surveillance photo, is described as a black male, approximately 20-26 years of age, 5’10” to 6’ tall, with a skinny build.

| | 6/30/2010 - Suspect responsible for two robberies | Polk County Sheriff`s Robbery detectives are seeking information on the identity of a suspect believed to be responsible for two separate armed robberies in 11 days.
The first robbery occurred at approximately 11:08 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Bailey Food Mart located at 2035 Bailey Road in Mulberry. An unknown black male suspect walked to the drink cooler, picked up a drink and came to the cashier’s counter as if he was going to pay for the drink.
The suspect then demanded the clerk open the register as he displayed a silver handgun hidden in a backpack he was carrying. He threatened the clerk, saying he would “kill her” if she did not comply.
The victim opened the cash register and the suspect reached over the counter and removed an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect fled on foot running northeast from the store. He is described as a black male, approximately 5’8” to 6’ tall. He appeared to be in his 20’s. He wore a white T-shirt, Khaki shorts and white shoes.
The suspect may have been driving a maroon or burgundy 2000 model Dodge Stratus.

The second robbery occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Detectives believe the same unknown black male suspect, this time wearing a white T-shirt and gray shorts, entered the store. The suspect had his face covered and was armed with an unknown type of firearm. The suspect demanded cash from the clerk, but the clerk refused to comply with his demands. After a brief struggle during which the clerk was slightly injured, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot heading westbound on SR 60.

| | 6/16/2010 - Armed Home Invasion | INFORMATION SOUGH IN ARMED HOME INVASTION
Polk County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in an Armed Home Invasion investigation.
At approximately 1:20 am, on Saturday, June 12, 2010, Polk County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call regarding a suspicious incident at a residence on Milner Drive in Lakeland.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that four black males, wearing black masks, had forced their way into the residence. Once inside, the suspects forced the two residents to the floor at gunpoint and demanded valuables. One of the victims was beaten and sustained numerous bruises and contusions. He was later transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries and is listed in good condition.
The suspects all wore black masks, a black t-shirt, and khaki pants. They are further described as:
1) 6-02, 170lbs, with long shoulder length dreads.
2) 5-06, 140-150lbs, short hair. A small caliber handgun was observed.
3) 5-06 – 5-07, 140-150lbs, short hair. A small caliber handgun was observed.
4) 5-06-5-08, 140-150lbs, unknown hair.
The suspects fled the scene in a 2009 or 2010 Black Dodge Durango.

| | 6/16/2010 - Armed Business Robbery | Polk County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in an Armed Business Robbery investigation.
At approximately 11:08 pm, Saturday, June 12, 2010, a male subject entered the Bailey Food Mart, 2035 Bailey Road, Mulberry, walked to the drink cooler, picked up a drink and came to the cashier’s counter as if he was going to pay for the drink.
The suspect then demanded the clerk open the register as he displayed a silver handgun hidden in a backpack he was carrying. He threatened the clerk, saying he would “kill her” if she did not comply.
The victim opened the cash register and the suspect reach over the counter and removed an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect fled on foot running northeast from the store. He is described as a black male, approximately 5’8” to 6’ tall. He appeared to be between the ages of 18 and 22. He wore a white t-shirt, Khaki shorts and white shoes.
The suspect was observed on the store’s surveillance video at approximately 10:31 pm, as he entered the store, purchased a drink, then left in what appears to be a 2000, Maroon or Burgundy, Dodge Stratus.

| | 6/9/2010 - Grand Theft from Lake Wales | Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help in identifying a grand theft suspect. The theft took place on June 2, 2010, at the Kangaroo Store located at 3044 SR 60 East in Lake Wales.
At approximately 7:00 P.M. that day, an unknown white male suspect wearing a red plaid shirt and white shorts was seen on video surveillance taking four VISA $100.00 pre-paid cards. The suspect then went to the Publix grocery store also located on SR 60 East in Lake Wales and attempted to convert those stolen cards to American Express gift cards, however, the transaction was denied at the register. He then went to the Publix grocery store located at 24170 US 27 in Lake Wales, where he purchased various gift cards using the stolen VISA cards.

| | 6/2/2010 - Residential Burglary | INFORMATION SOUGHT ON RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help locating a suspect in a Residential Burglary.
Sometime between the 9:15 am, and 10:00 am, on Monday, May 31, 2010, a window on the west side of a residence on Atlantic Avenue, Babson Park, was broken and a suspect or suspects entered the house.
Once inside the residence, several loaded firearms, a television, DVD player, and other property was stolen. Some of the stolen property was recovered a short time later in a wooded area northwest of the residence; however some of the firearms are still missing.
