Burglary, Ace Hardware, Mulberry
September 10, 2019

Burglary was the case on Monday, August 26th at around 4:08 in the morning. It happened at the Ace Hardware store in Mulberry.

Deputies first responded to the business due to a burglar alarm. When they arrived, the alarm was blaring and the burglar was gone.

Here’s what we know: the burglar caused a lot of damage while burgling. From the store’s security video (which we are still waiting to obtain), you can see that the burglar appears to be white. He was wearing camouflage pants, camo hunting hat, and camo mask…but we could still see him. He also appeared to wear latex gloves.

The getaway vehicle may (or may not) be a Ford Expedition, or something similar. It had four wheels…we do know that.

The burglar made off with about fifteen pairs of Costa sunglasses...which we thought was a kind of odd thing to steal…until we learned just how much fifteen pairs of Costa sunglasses are worth.

PERSONAL NOTE: Research how difficult it would be to become a manufacturer of sunglasses.

We’re hoping that someone might recognize our burglar, know something about this crime, or might know someone who oddly has more than a dozen Costa sunglasses.

Vehicle Burglaries, Tangerine Hills and Copper Ridge, Lakeland
September 09, 2019

Car burglars were out in the wee-hours of Friday morning (September 6th) in north Lakeland.

Some residents on Kaitlin Circle (in Tangerine Trails North) and Dunhill Circle (in Copper Ridge) discovered later in the morning that somebody burgled some autos during the dark hours.

As of this time, seven burglaries have been reported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and deputies began gathering information and evidence straight away.

Early reports are that a very little amount of property was taken.

Security video captured two suspects sneaking around and attempting (and failing) to get into a locked truck.

One of the suspects can be seen wearing what appears to be gloves and a medical mask.

Detectives continue checking neighborhoods to see if anyone else has available security video that might have also captured these rascals in action.
