Polk County Sheriff`s Robbery detectives are seeking the public`s help on the whereabouts of 46-year-old Lamont Batts (DOB 3/3/1967), who has a Polk County Warrant for his arrest for Armed Robbery, 2 counts Armed Kidnapping, Armed Carjacking, Armed Burglary, and Aggravated Battery.
During the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 14, 2013, Batts forced a female victim at gunpoint to drive him to the area of Gilmore Avenue and Memorial Blvd in Lakeland. The victim`s 7-year-old son was in the car at the time. Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the incident. The suspect has been positively identified as Lamont Batts.
Lamont is described as a black male, 5`7" tall, 150 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He goes by the street name "Pooky." He has several tattoos: two on his left arm, depicting a cross and the words "East NY"; two on his right arm, the words "Polo" and "Brooklyn"; and a rose on the right side of his chest. His last known address was on Gilmore Avenue in Lakeland. A recent Polk County Jail mugshot of Batts is attached.
Lamont has been in the Polk County Jail on 17 prior occasions. He has been to state prison 4 times. His most recent prison incarceration was for Battery on Elderly Victim for which he served 2 years

On Thursday, May 9, 2013, PCSO Robbery detectives arrested 33-year-old Richard Delgado Cruz (DOB 2/11/1980) of Kissimmee and obtained a warrant for his brother, 29-year-old Danny Delgado Cruz (DOB 6/23/1983) of Kissimmee, in the violent armed home invasion, armed burglary, and sexual battery that occurred in Poinciana on May 6, 2013.

The attached affidavit has full details - warning, it is graphic.

Both Cruz`s are being charged with: one count Armed Robbery (F-1); one count Armed Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling (F-1); one count Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon (F-1); and one count Sexual Battery (F-2). Richard is being booked into the Polk County Jail at this time. Danny is at large and has a Polk County warrant for his arrest.

Winter Haven Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a very dangerous and violent felon who put a gun to a victim`s head and pulled the trigger. The gun misfired and the victim was able to escape uninjured.
On 4-28-13 at approximately 1 a.m., Winter Haven Police responded to Spring Lake Plaza (just off Havendale Blvd. near Hwy 17) in the area of Bar Red in response to a black male threatening someone in a crowd with a gun. When officers arrived, a large crowd was gathered and witnesses identified the suspect as Dorale Desean Sermons (DOB 9-15-85, North 6th St., Haines City), who had fled the scene prior to police arrival. Numerous bystanders state they saw the weapon pointed at the victim`s head and heard a "loud click" indicating the trigger being pulled. The weapon backfired and the victim ran out of the area to safety.
Sermons has a very violent criminal history that includes charges of First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Shooting Into An Occupied Vehicle, Battery on Law Enforcement, Depriving Law Enforcement of Means of Communications, Resisting Arrest With Violence, Aggravated Battery, Grand Theft, Burglary, Felony Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct and a host of other charges all dating back to 1999.
Sermons is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Winter Haven Police are asking for the public`s help in locating a suspect who attacked a Winter Haven man with a butcher knife causing life-threatening injuries.

On 4-26-13 Antonio Demetrius Neal (B/M, DOB 8-2-67, LNA 1610 3rd St. NW, Winter Haven) attacked the victim ( Arthur Tellis, of Winter Haven) who was trying to defuse an argument between the suspect and another citizen.

As Tellis attempted to talk to Neal to calm him down, Neal retrieved a butcher knife and lashed out at Tellis striking him in the side causing significant injuries. Tellis was taken to Winter Haven Hospital by a relative where he was admitted for serious injuries due to the stabbing. Tellis lost a large amount of blood due to the laceration from the butcher knife that went into his side approximately nine inches. At the time of this release, Tellis is listed in critical, but stable condition at Winter Haven Hospital.

An arrest warrant has been obtained for Neal for Attempted Second Degree Murder with a Deadly Weapon (L-F). Neal is considered extremely dangerous due to his violent history.

SUSPECT AT LARGE - JAVARIUS A. SAMUEL
Winter Haven Police have arrested one man and are asking for the public`s help in locating a second suspect who used the popular online classified advertisement website "Craigslist" to violently rob two unsuspecting victims from Sarasota.
On 4-23-13 at approximately 6:40 p.m., Jamar Octavious Lynch (B/M, DOB 1-28-91, Ave. D, Haines City) and Javarius Antwane Samuel (B/M, DOB 2-14-91, LNA 409 5th St., N, Haines City) met the two victims, who had posted a 1997 Yamaha Banshee Twin ATV for sale on Craigslist. The suspects instructed the victims (Russell Myers and Ryan Snyder, both from Sarasota) to meet on Palm Dr. NE in Winter Haven. When the victims arrived, they met up with Javarious Samuel who escorted them to Lake Maude Park in Winter Haven. Samuel told the victims he was waiting for his cousin to bring the money for the ATV.
When suspect Jamar Lynch arrived, both Samuel and Lynch attacked victim Myers, punching him in the face. At the same time, victim Snyder jumped on the ATV in an attempt to start the vehicle. Lynch indicated to the victims that he "was packing" implying that he had a weapon. Samuel then grabbed Snyder pulling him off the ATV and fled on the ATV. Lynch left in a maroon Saturn with a white stripe, which was later located in Haines City.

Warrants were obtained for both Lynch and Samuel. On 4-26-13, Lynch was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail for Robbery.

The warrant obtained for Samuel is for Robbery (F-2), Use of Electronic Communication to Facilitate a Felony (F-3) and Felony Battery (F-3).
Samuel is still at large and Police are asking the public to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477) with any information on Snyder`s whereabouts. Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a CASH reward.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating a Robbery suspect.
At approximately 2:30 am, on Saturday, April 6, 2013, a black female entered the Circle K convenience store located at 4950 Highway 92 E, Lakeland.
The female suspect went behind the counter, removed a pack of cigarettes and concealed them. When the store clerk told the suspect she must pay for the cigarettes, the suspect battered the victim and fled the store with the unpaid cigarettes.
Store video surveillance captured the suspect’s image. She has been identified as 28-year-old Shonta Denise Wynn, DOB 08-12-1984, last known address is Alderman Road, Auburndale. She is descried as being approximately 5’7” tall and weighing approximately 270 pounds. She was last seen driving a green, four door 1994 Mercury with tinted windows, three after-market rims, one stock rim, with FL tag M615KX.
Wynn has three active warrants in addition to the Robbery and Aggravated Battery charges in this investigation.

Jamie L Bibbs, a 37 year old Lake Wales resident, is wanted by Lake Wales Police for attempting to shoot another man. On April 4, 2013 at approximately 1:20am Bibbs attempted to lure the victim, a 23 year old Lake Wales man, to his vehicle on Jewel St. The victim did not approach Bibbs due to past problems between the two. The victim reported Bibbs stepped out of his vehicle holding a handgun. Being in fear for his life the victim fled and told police that is when Bibbs began shooting at him. The victim reported Bibbs fired 5 – 6 rounds at him and none of them struck him.

Police located five 9mm casings in the area where the victim reported the incident occurred. Bibbs fled the area prior to the arrival of law enforcement. Lake Wales Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Bibbs on the charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Bibbs has an extensive criminal history and is considered armed and dangerous. Polk County Sheriff`s Robbery detectives are seeking the public`s help in locating two known suspects who both have Polk County warrants for their arrests for Armed Robbery.

The personal robbery occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013, in the parking lot of the Pepsi plant located at 4100 South Frontage Road in Lakeland. The victim agreed to meet a friend at that location, and during the meeting, he was robbed at gunpoint by 27-year-old Paul Wright, Jr. (DOB 8/10/1985), and 21-year-old Tony Eugene McDonald, Jr. (DOB 12/8/1991).

Wright and McDonald could either be in the Lakeland or the Plant City area. Recent photos of them are attached. Both have Polk County warrants for their arrests, and additionally, both have Hillsborough County Sheriff`s Office warrants for their arrests for other crimes there.

Exploitation of an Elderly or Disabled Person, Scheme to Defraud, and Theft from a Person 65 Years of Age or Older.

Hamilton “James” Watson and his father, 58-year-old Hamilton “John” Watson, took advantage of a victim’s declining health and swindled large sums of money and a vehicle from the elderly woman. Both father and son reside on Old Tampa Highway, Lakeland.

Detectives learned the exploitation began sometime in April when the two men met the victim advising her of work they could provide around her home.

Throughout April 2012, several checks were written on the victim’s account to “Sunny Florida Painting, with notations regarding “roof work” and “renovations.” Neither suspect is licensed as a roof or construction employer or contractor.

Detectives gathered evidence which reflected over a twelve day period, the suspects had a total amount of $120,575.00 written to them. The suspects also obtained two more checks that “James” was unable to cash for the total amount of $93,267.85. The total amount the suspects took or attempted to take was $213,842.85.

Detectives, working with various financial institutions since May 2012, were able to obtain sufficient evidence to obtain arrests warrants for both “James” and “John” Watson on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, charging both with Exploitation of an Elderly or Disabled Person, Scheme to Defraud, and Theft from a Person 65 Years of Age or Older.

The victim currently receives around the clock home care and has been declared legally incapacitated.

At approximately 6:30 pm, “John” Watson was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail, where he is being held on a Nebbia Hold.

Detectives are still looking for “James” Watson and have information that suggests he may be in Arizona at this time.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted subject.

68-year-old Charles Luther Bailey 03/25/44, 3055 Walk in Water Road, Lake Wales, is wanted on an active Polk County Arrest Warrant for 2 counts of Sexual Battery on a child less than 12 years of age, and Distributing Obscene Material to a Minor.

The investigation began on January 24, 2013, and detectives attempted to contact Bailey, but when Bailey learned of the investigation he fled the area.

On 01/26/13, the suspect’s wife, Viola Bialy, reported the suspect missing to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office advising MCSO deputies her husband was last seen in Duette.

Viola Bailey, who was subsequently charged with Filing a False Police Report, told MCSO deputies her husband had threatened suicide and when they stopped at a store in Duette, he fled leaving behind suicide note. Through their investigation, MCSO determined Viola Bialy had lied about her husband’s disappearance and that she had dropped Bialy off at the intersection of SR 301 and CR62 (Parish, Florida).

Bialy is described as being 5’6” tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has gray hair, and brown eyes. Bailey could be driving a light blue 2001 Chrysler minivan, Florida tag number A36-9YW, or a 1987 tan Southwind Motor home FL tag J90-6GJ, possibly staying in a campground.
